WalkingDeadBr: How was the experience of being in The Walking Dead? In younger living zombie series?

Addy Miller: Being part of The Walking Dead has turned out to be an incredible experience. I have been meeting fans of the show everywhere I go, and I am amazed at their love for the show and my character and how they felt after watching the opening scene. I do not think people expected for a child zombie to be put down in that way, and yes, being the only child zombie has been very cool!

WDBr: How did you enter to the series? Have you been invited or participated the auditions?

AM: I was contacted by the show to audition. I think someone had seen me in another movie or audition, I’m not really sure how they found me. But I auditioned and a week later I learned they loved me and offered me the part!

WDBr: Did you know the comic book of “The Walking Dead” before entering the series, or did you begin to follow it after?

AM: I did not know about the comic book until I was cast in the TV series. After I found out it was a comic book first, my mom and I went out and bought every volume and read them all. I am hooked! I love the comic and the TV show, and I love how they are the same but different from each other too.

WDBr: Did “The Walking Dead” change your life somehow?

AM: Wow, what a good question. I don’t think it has changed my personal life any, but professionally yes. I have been making a lot of personal appearances on behalf of The Walking Dead with other cast members at comic and horror conventions. It has been amazing. I mean this interview for example, I would not be doing this if it wasn’t for the show, so I am forever thankful for this part of my life!

WDBr: You worked next to very talented people. Andrew Lincoln, Frank Darabont, Gregory Nicotero and more. Do you think that somehow this influenced your career? How much did you learn with these masters?

AM: Oh yes! Working with people at this level really has been the highlight of my career. I actually got to know Greg Nicotero the most because I worked with him for fittings before the day we shot my scene. He is someone that I love and wish I could see everyday! His makeup on my face is one of the reasons my character has gotten so much attention, he is just the best of the best!! Working with Frank Darabont was incredible! I mean this is THE director you want directing you. He personally told me what he wanted and how, so I all did was follow his direction and watch what he was doing. It really wasn’t hard, he knew exactly how to get the best from me. Andrew Lincoln was so nice and friendly! He and I met for the first time on set that day, and I was already in my makeup, but we tried to chat because he said he wanted to get to know me first before he had to shoot me. It was very funny on set. I would work with any of these three anytime!!

WDBr: The zombies of “The Walking Dead” are very realistic due the work around the makeup. How it was the makeup process with you? It was too complicated?

AM: To make the Little Girl Zombie took a lot of prep work. I had to have a full head mold created, teeth molds and I had to have my eyes measured for the special child size contacts. So all the prosthetics and stuff on my face were made special to fit my face. For me it was very simple, I just sat there and let the artists do all the work. Total time from start to finish of putting it on me was three hours with two people applying the prosthetics and then Greg (Nicotero) doing the finishing touches of blood and my teeth.

WDBr: What’s your best memory during the filming? Something funny happened that you could share to us?

AM: The stunts!! I loved doing my own stunts. My scene actually has two stunts in it, and the second one was my favorite, when I jumped off a ladder backwards. I guess something funny from set would be Mr. Darabont’s reaction. He would get very happy and jump up. I loved seeing his reaction, it made me feel very good.

WDBr: What your parents thought about your zombie role?

AM: Surprisingly they love it! My mom and dad are very proud of me, and they support me in my career as an actress. I am very lucky!

WDBr: This wasn’t your first adventure with the walking dead. You’ve been also in “One Last Sunset” in 2010. Are you fan of the gender? When/where emerged the like?

AM: Well yes, I have been a zombie before in One Last Sunset. I have also played ghosts in other roles too. I am not a big scary movie fan, althought one of my favorite movies is Poltergiest. But I think I am good at being a little creepy girl, so for me it works. The first role that really got me thinking I liked this type of role was in a movie called Paranormal. I played the lead’s daughter that died and came back to haunt him.

WDBr: What Addy Miller likes to do in free time?

AM: Well my Brazilian fans would probably like to know I play soccer! I used to play on two teams, but this year I dropped to one because of my schedule. Both my parents played in college, so I started young at age 4. If I wasn’t an actress, I would want to be a professional soccer player! I also like to draw anime and I like to hang out with my family and friends.

WDBr: Are you working on some new project?

AM: I have three new projects coming out this year, two movies and another tv show. The TV show is called Ghost Trek (www.facebook.com/ghosttrektv) I play a pretty little pagaent girl that is murdered and haunts the paranormal team. The two movies are Remnants (www.remnants-movie.com), and an Ed Wood remake called Plan 9 (www.plan9movie.com). I actually just play a normal little girl in both of these. I have also busy shooting some short films for film festivals, and for fun this summer, I worked on the movie The Three Stooges, which comes out next year. I am just an orphan girl, but loved working with Jane Lynch and Sean Hayes.

WDBr: Thank you for the interview, Addy! In Brazil’s wish you much success!

AM: As acrobacias!

Você é fã do gênero?
