Walking Dead Br: How did you enter the show? Did you participate of any audition or were you invited to join the cast?

Emily Kinney: I became a part of the show after a few auditions that I got through my agent in NYC.

WDBr: Tell us a little about your character, Beth Greene. What can we wait of her in this new season of The Walking dead?

EK: I can’t tell you much because it is all a big secret right now!!! But I can tell you that I play Maggie’s sister and Jimmy is my boyfriend. I’m sixteen and part of the group the Rick’s group from season one finds on the farm.

WDBr: Your character were especially created for the show, she doesn’t exist at the HQs. Do you think that helped or interfered on your acting? Was it necessary to read the HQ by Robert Kirkman? Did you know the story before the show?

EK: I still read some of the comics because I wanted to get an idea of where the story started, but I think a new character is exciting and fun because there are so many questions and possibilities. I could be really creative about who this character was and how she fits in!

WDBr: You got a great historic when it comes to TV shows, you acted in The Bic C, Law & Order: Criminal Intent, The Good Wife… What are you expectations on working on a drama/action as The Walking Dead?

EK: I loved being on The Big C and other tv shows, but The Walking Dead is special because there are so many cool action scenes and I’ve never been on a show with zombies and special effects make up!!

WDBr: On The Walking Dead you worked with renowned actors like Lauren Cohan, Scott Wilson and others. What could you tell us about that? What was acting with them like?

EK: I love working with Lauren Cohan and Scott Wilson because they are so good and I can just watch them and listen and learn so much. I hope being around them I will become a better actor!!

WDBr: As everybody knows, The Walking Dead is a show about zombies. Do you have any kinship with the theme? Are you fan of any story of this genre?

EK: Everyday I become a bigger zombie fan! Zombies are so cool. I didn’t watch a lot of zombie movies before getting the part, but now I am trying to catch up and learn everything I can!

WDBr: In your career, who was an inspiration to you?

EK: There are many actors who inspire me!! But I also draw a lot of inspiration from my family and friends. They inform my writing and a lot about how I approach certain characters, and they are all so supportive. I’ve had some amazing teachers too. My acting teacher, Joan, from Nebraska. My voice teacher, Marianne…My agents really believe in me and that also inspires me to do good work!

WDBr: Having acted on so many TV shows like The Walking Dead, do you want to dedicate your future works to the cinema, theaters or do you want to keep focusing on the television?

EK: I want to do it all! I love doing a show and going to the theatre every night! That is the best schedule! But I also want to do more film and I love how tv shows can reach such a large audience and really effect people and the audience can get to know a character and see them change. Being on a TV show is really special opportunity. The Walking Dead is a dream job!

WDBr: We know that, besides been an actress, you are a gifted singer! We know your original song “Blue Toothbrush” and we love your voice! You started writing since you were little. Did you find your inspiration on a childhood love or it came naturally? Do you intend to follow a career as a singer?

EK: I will always write songs! It is one of my favorite things to do when I have free time to myself. It’s almost like a way of journaling for me. I’m so excited about my singing career because I just release my first Album called ‘Blue Toothbrush.’ There are five songs and if you like blue toothbrush, I bet you will like the others. WDBr: What Emily likes to do on free time when she is not acting or singing?

EK: I love going to concerts. That’s what I do when I have free nights off. I also like running in central park or riverside park and yoga. I don’t get to see my family much because they live in Nebraska and Colorado, so when I have time off I like to hang out with my family. I also love shopping for new hoodies!! They are my favorite thing to wear!!

WDBr: Have you ever been on Brazil? If not, would you like to come? The The Walking Dead fans don’t know your work yet, but only by doing part of the cats, you become a very special person to us, Brazilian fans!

The Big C, Law & Order: Criminal Intent, The Good Wife…

É a melhor agenda!
