[WDBr Entrevista – Elenco] Steven Yeun (Glenn)

Em entrevista exclusiva ao WalkingDeadBr, o ator Steven Yeun (Glenn) nos fala um pouco sobre as mudanças em sua vida, após a série, especula sobre o que podemos esperar da segunda temporada de The Walking Dead e muito mais. Confiram! *o*

WalkingDeadBr: You and Robert Kirkman seem to be good friends. Did you know his
job on the comic books before working on the tv show?

Steven Yeun: Yes, Robert is great. I knew of his work before the show. I was a fan of the comic book before the show. It’s amazing to put a face to the body of work, and it’s nice to know that someone who created something so great is also a very nice person.

WDBr: We are crazy to watch Steven Yeun acting on The Walking Dead season two! Anxious about Glenn and Maggie relationship! Curious about the look changes (the haircut) [laughs]! What do you think about all that?

SY: I have no knowledge as to what exactly will happen in season two but I can
only imagine it will be awesome. I’m curious, too!

WDBr: In your opinion, what kind of surprises we fans can expect? Do you think it’s possible to take a quick peek at his past?

SY: I’m sure you will see some moments that people will expect to see. But I also think there might be some new and exciting things that people will not
expect. There is a chance of visiting people’s pasts, but I definitely do not know.

WDBr: There was a moment when Rick had to escape to a tank with no way out. What do you think would happen if Glenn hasn’t seen him? Do you think he, by himself, would go out easily?

SY: Without Glenn, he would be zombie food.

WDBr: Glenn was a essential character for the group of survivals, because of his knowledge about the streets of Atlanta. He could maintain the supplies. How do you think his life was when he delivered pizza in a normal world?

SY: I imagine his life was pretty meaningless before the zombie apocalypse, at least to his standards. I think he was stuck in a rut and this new living situation has caused him to reevaluate himself and his role in life.

WDBr: How do/did you feel working with the wonderful production and direction of Gale Anne Hurd and Frank Darabont?

SY: It was awesome. To have one of your first experiences be with some of the biggest names in the industry is a dream come true. They are such sweet and nice people and they are just geniuses in this industry.

WDBr: Glenn and Rick have a strong partnership on the first season and on the comic books too. When the cameras stop rolling, how is your relationship with Andrew Lincoln?

SY: Andrew is great. He was so good to me when we first worked together. He took me under his wing in a way and showed me the ropes. I had a lot of questions for him and he had such fantastic answers and support. He is a true class act.

WDBr: For sure there were a lot of funny moments during the footage. We made a interview with IronE a couple of days ago and he told us about the “Thriller” dance inside the makeup trailer. [Laughs] What other moment can you share with us?

SY: I think I had some of the most fun during the zombie attack on the camp scene. It was just so intense, yet in spite of that there were a bunch of us just cracking jokes.

WDBr: Have you ever been to Brazil? If you haven’t, would you? I think it would be like a dream for us, Brazilian fans, have a tv show premiere tour, right here!

SY: I have never been to Brazil, but I would absolutely LOVE to visit Brazil.
Hopefully AMC will send me!

WDBr: The Walking Dead has been growing day after day. How has your life changed since you’ve started working on this show? Are you working on a new project?

SY: Life has changed a little bit but not all that much. I get recognized sometimes on the street but mostly life is the same, which is the way I like it. I’ve definitely gotten to meet a lot of amazing people which has been a dream. Right now, I’m writing and doing a lot of live theatre.

SY: Sure!

WalkingDeadBr: Você e Robert Kirkman aparentam ser grandes amigos. Você já conhecia o trabalho dele nas HQ’s antes da série?

Steven Yeun: Sim, o Robert é legal. Eu conhecia o trabalho dele antes do seriado. Eu era fã dos quadrinhos antes do seriado. É emocionante colocar a mão na massa, e é legal saber que alguém que criou algo tão bom é também uma pessoa muito legal.

WDBr: Estamos loucos para ver Steven Yeun atuando na segunda temporada de The Walking Dead! Ansiosos pelo relacionamento de Gleen e Maggie! Curiosos se haverá ou não uma mudança de visual (o corte do cabelo hehe)! O que você acha disso tudo?

SY: Eu não tenho conhecimento do que exatamente irá acontecer na segunda temporada mas eu só posso imaginar que será impressionante. Estou curioso, também!

WDBr: Para você, o que nós fãs, podemos esperar de Gleen na segunda temporada? Você acha que poderia ser capaz de mostrar um pouco do seu passado?

SY: Eu tenho certeza que vocês verão alguns momentos que as pessoas esperarão para ver. Mas eu também acho que pode haver algumas coisas novas e excitantes que as pessoas não esperarão. Há uma chance de visita ao passado das pessoas, mas eu definitivamente não sei.

WDBr: Quando Rick sofreu aquele incidente e teve que se refugiar no tanque de guerra não tinha mais saída. O que você acha que poderia ter acontecido se Glenn não o tivesse visto? Acha que ele, sozinho, conseguiria sair do tanque com aquela facilidade?

SY: Sem Gleen, ele seria comida de zumbi.

WDBr: Glenn foi o personagem fundamental para o grupo de sobreviventes, pois além de saber muito bem cada rua de Atlanta, ele conseguia trazer suprimentos para manter o grupo. Como você acha que possivelmente era a vida de Glenn quando ele era apenas um entregador de pizza em um mundo completamente normal?

SY: Eu imagino que a vida dele era muito sem sentido antes do apocalipse zumbi, pelo menos para o padrão dele. Eu acho que ele estava preso numa rotina e essa nova situação de vida fez com que ele reavaliasse ele mesmo e o seu papel na vida.

WDBr: Como foi/é trabalhar com uma produção e direção maravilhosa de Gale Anne Hurd e Frank Darabont?

SY: Foi incrível. Ter uma de nossas primeiras experiências com um dos maiores nomes da indústria foi um sonho virar realidade. Eles são tão gentis e bons e eles são apenas gênios nessa indústria.

WDBr: Glenn e Rick tem uma parceria muito forte na primeira temporada e na série das HQ’s também. Fora das câmeras, como é sua relação com Andrew Lincoln?

SY: Andrew é ótimo. Ele foi tão bom comigo quando nós trabalhamos juntos pela primeira vez. Ele me protegeu e me mostrou como se fazia as coisas. Eu tinha muitas questões para ele e ele tinha certas respostas fantásticas e suporte. Ele é um ator de classe.

WDBr: Com certeza deve ter existido vários momentos engraçados durante as gravações. Realizamos uma entrevista com o ator IronE Singleton a alguns dias atrás e ele nos revelou sobre a dança de “Thriller” de Michael Jackson no trailer de maquiagem. (Risos) Que outro momento engraçado você poderia compartilhar conosco?

SY: Eu acho que eu tive como um dos mais engraçados durante o ataque zumbi na cena do acampamento. Foi tão intensa, apesar de que alguns de nós somente contava piadas.

WDBr: Já esteve no Brasil alguma vez? Se não, tem vontade? Acho que seria um sonho para os fãs brasileiros uma premiere de divulgação da série, por aqui!

SY: Eu nunca estive no Brasil, mas eu absolutamente amaria visitar o Brasil. Tenho esperança que a AMC me envie!

WDBr: The Walking Dead está crescendo a cada dia que passa! O que mudou na sua vida após a série? Está trabalhando em algum novo projeto?

SY: A vida mudou um pouco, mas não tanto. Eu sou reconhecido algumas vezes nas ruas mas no geral a vida continua a mesma, da maneira que eu gosto. Eu tive que conhecer muitas pessoas extraordinárias no qual foi um sonho. Agora mesmo, eu estou escrevendo e fazendo muito para viver, como o teatro.
